This station was designed to meet the 20 year growth projections for the Nugents Corner/Deming area of Whatcom County. The Apparatus Bays are a drive-through design, and can accommodate up to six vehicles. The administrative areas are wrapped around a training room designed to seat 50. The second level has six single-occupancy sleeping rooms, a day room, kitchen and locker rooms. Because of the rural location, a 35,000 gallon storage tank is provided for the sprinkler system, and can also be used for filling pumper trucks. Primary materials are concrete slab-on-grade, wood frame, concrete masonry, wood siding, and metal roofing.
