Building Communities

Building on a legacy of community service established by Jim Zervas, Zervas Group strengthens our community's educational, cultural and social fabric through both personal and professional involvement in a range of activities and organizations.

Each of the partners has donated significant time and talent toward advancing design and technical standards in the region through volunteer leadership positions with the National AIA, AIA Washington Council, AIA Northwest Washington Region, City of Bellingham, Regional Urban Design Assistance Team, Downtown Renaissance Network and Housing for the Homeless. The firm also supports the arts and architecture through annual sponsorships that include programs for Mt. Baker Theater and Whatcom Symphony, while donating fees toward a number of buildings that enrich the community:

  • Arne Hanna Aquatic Center
  • Bellingham High School dug-outs
  • Bellingham Food Bank
  • Ferndale Food Bank
  • Northwest Soccer Park Activity Center
  • Pickford Cinema
  • Little Swan Theater
  • Firehouse Performing Arts Center
